Northern Lights season starts midway of September and ends in the last days of March. Our village is within the aurorazone with plenty of good spots to see and photograph the Aurora Borealis. Please see our tour options below.

Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, which no-one can predict for certain. We have weather forecasts and even aurora forecasts, but ultimately it is all down to luck.

An Aurora Hunting Tour by Car takes you on an unforgettable adventure in pursuit of the Northern Lights. With a small group and a local guide we venture into remote, dark locations where the aurora borealis can be observed safely. The flexible, mobile nature of the tour means you can cover more ground and adapt to changing weather conditions, maximizing your chances of seeing the vibrant green, purple, and pink lights dance across the sky.

As you ride in a cozy, heated vehicle, your guide will share interesting facts about the aurora and local culture, deepening your connection to this natural phenomenon. During stops, you’ll have the opportunity to step out into the crisp Arctic air, enjoy warm drinks, and set up your camera for that perfect shot of the swirling lights.

Whether you’re a photographer, nature lover, or simply seeking a once-in-a-lifetime experience, this tour is suitable if you wish to admire the arctic sky and Northern Lights from different locations.

We will not operate the tour in heavy cloudy weather, or when the winds are too strong.

 

Take along:

  • Dress up warmly as we are outdoors also during the trip. If we see Northern Lights we are going to be outdoors most of the time.
  • Remember to take gloves and warm hat also
  • If you like to photograph take with you your camera and tripod

Aurora Sauna Camp

A very unique experience!

Enjoy the heat of a traditional sauna and the chill of an Arctic Ocean dip, all under the magical northern night sky.

The tour begins with a warm sauna, where you can unwind and let the heat rejuvenate your body after a day in the cold Arctic air. After your time in the sauna, you’ll have the chance to experience a thrilling plunge into the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean. This shock to the senses is both exhilarating and refreshing, a traditional Scandinavian practice known for its health benefits. You will have access to warm changing rooms, and our guide will set up a campfire outside if it is not too windy.

From the shore of the Arctic Ocean or while sitting in the warmth of the dressing room, you can watch the stars, moon and hopefully the Northern Lights, which come alive with dazzling colors—shimmering greens, pinks, and purples—dancing overhead. Your expert guide will offer you hot drinks and snack during the tour.

With the combination of a steamy sauna, an invigorating Arctic swim, and the awe of witnessing the aurora borealis, this tour is an unforgettable way to experience the Arctic’s natural wonders in total comfort and serenity.
